Which industry do you want to be a graphic designer for?

Music? Film? Fashion?

Pick one.

You will need to create graphic designs for the marketing of a new product; a promo package to sell the product to a specific target audience.

For example, the promotional package could be for:
• a new film – including poster, DVD cover and merchandise
design
• a new band – including poster, CD cover and T-shirt design
• a live event – including poster, flyer, ticket design
• a new game – including game cover, point of sale display

Note some rough ideas.

Read this and think through which audience you're going to target

TASK: Create 11 image-based A5 slides

1a. What you are trying to promote (eg. The XX new album Destroyer)
1b. The three related graphic design elements
2. Moodboard
3a. Target audience
3b. Secondary audience
4. Colour scheme
5. Font sheet
6,7, 8 (target audience) sample designs with a brief sentence as to how they relate to TA
9,10,11 (secondary audience) sample designs with a brief sentence as to how they relate to TA

This is a merit / distinction task.

Do a minimum of three designs for your primary audience and three for your secondary audience.

To get a higher mark than Pass you need to show that you've chosen a strong:

- Layout
- Colour scheme
- Font
- Imagery

and kept all the conventions of the product - eg if it's a DVD cover it has a barcode, spine, cleat title, BBFC certificate

You will present these so they need to look good.
